Built for sun and dry summers: Perovskia
Perovskia atriplicifolia, widely known as Russian sage, has become a key perennial for modern planting schemes. The species is recognized for its silvery aromatic foliage and tall, airy spikes of blue-toned flowers that create a light, cloud-like effect in the border. It performs best in sunny, well-drained positions and is widely used in drought-tolerant and contemporary perennial plantings. Its open structure combines well with grasses and other sun-loving perennials, while the long flowering season and pollinator value make it equally attractive for garden centre customers.
