Fruit plants - not always so obvious!
Outside the windows, it's grey, dreary, wet... No sun, and the day, which is already extremely short today, is still getting shorter... We desperately need vitamins and something that will increase our energy levels. And what could be better than fruit? Preferably those from your plantation, processed into juices, compotes, jams, marmalades, frozen, and... added to winter desserts (low sugar content!).
Give your customers a chance to create a home fruit pantry and include fruit bushes in your offer.
Raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, currants, blueberries, actinidia, chokeberry (Aronia), and amelanchier. The two last ones sound a bit exotic as fruit bushes, but they are perfect for large and small plantations.
Aronia, a rather tart-tasting source of vitamins and minerals, is perfect for homemade tinctures or a distinctive addition to sweet cakes. In spring it is decorated with white flowers, and in autumn with intensely red leaves.
Amelanchier, which blooms fabulously in spring and is a brilliant ornamental plant, offers us small, delicate, and sweet-tasting fruits (running along paths planted with Amelanchier is very tasty during its fruiting season).
Actinidia arguta, mini-kiwi, which differs from its big brother in having smooth, hairless skin, is an excellent alternative to grapes, can be stored for a long time, and can be made into tasty and pretty delicacies.
In addition, a classic set of allotment gardeners (and professional growers) - raspberries, the taste of which does not need to be praised. Temptingly sweet and aromatic, they taste best fresh but are also great for preserves and as an addition to morning oatmeal or dessert (our favorite combination - brownie with raspberries... or cheesecake with raspberries, difficult to decide). Also available in a mini version, for those who want to enjoy the taste of fresh fruit from their sunny terrace or balcony. And a version with yellow leaves that look as if someone planted a sun in the garden (Rubus idaeus 'Groovy'PBR).
Blackberries with large, dark, appetizing fruits that bear great fruit and are easy to grow. Gooseberries with green or red fruit, aromatic currants... Blueberries for more experienced gardeners or for industrial plantations. Check for yourself what else we have in our fruit offer. Oh, and pay attention to the miniature fig tree - Ficus car. 'Little Miss Figgy' PBR, which looks nice and produces good fruit.
Our proposition - prepare fruit sets for your customers. Something for a larger garden, i.e. raspberries, blackberries, currants, gooseberries. And a set for terraces, including Ficus car. 'Little Miss Figgy' PBR, Rubus idaeus BonBonBerry® 'Yummy' PBR, Rubus idaeus 'Ruby Beauty®' and Vaccinium cor. 'Flamingo®, which tastes and looks interesting (thanks to its green-pink leaves).
P.S. After writing this text, I can't help myself... I think there will be fruit cake for dessert...
