Their time is coming...

The time of conifers, when they show their unique, spring beauty of young growths. Delicate, pastel, slightly childish colors that look unique against the background of older shoots with more serious colors.

Conifers are a great "skeleton" of a garden. A garden made of conifers alone can overwhelm, but a garden without them is empty. Thanks to the variety of forms and colors, they work well as solitaire, hedges, background for deciduous plants, perennials (check out our Geranium 'Rozanne'®, which we wrote about last week; remember about Astilbe), and ornamental grasses, such as Miscanthus, Pennisetum.
They can grow in gardens, urban greenery, and containers as a decoration of a balcony, terrace, or outdoor cafes.

Check out what we have for you this week:
  • exceptionally and temporarily, Abies koreana 'Kohout's Icebreaker'® C1,5 and Cedrus libani 'Glauca' C2 returned to the offer in symbolic quantities.
  • Chamaecyparis l. 'Stardust' P9 with sunny golden scales
  • see the list of Junipers. There are such "iron items" as Juniperus ch. 'Stricta', Juniperus comm. 'Hibernica' and 'Suecica', a wide selection of Juniperus horizontalis, Juniperus pfitzeriana, Juniperus sc. 'Moonglow' and Juniperus squamata.
  • Picea and Pinus in varieties, different forms, and colors, in C1.5, C2, and P9 containers
  • Thuja in both columnar and spherical form.

All of them, typically for us, are well-branched and well-rooted. Plants P9 are perfect for repotting in bigger containers, for the autumn offer. Plants C1.5 and C2 are ready for retail sale.

Interesting facts:

Shoots and needles of conifers emit phytoncides, i.e. substances that are equivalent to antibiotics, emitted by bacteria, fungi, and lichens.
  • Phytoncides have bactericidal, fungicidal, and protozoicidal properties.
  • They inhibit the growth of viruses or damage their structure.
  • They stimulate blood circulation, prevent thrombosis, and prevent atherosclerosis.
  • Phytoncides lower the level of cholesterol and glucose in the blood, which reduces the risk of diabetes.
It's worth planting conifers in cities because of their ability to absorb air pollution that is harmful to our health.

FAQ:

How should I make my order?

Complete the "order" column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details and the expected date of receipt of the order - this will help us plan work in the nursery.

When will my order be confirmed?

Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours. If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.

When can I pick up my order?

We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April - 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from September 2021 to mid-May 2022.

I'm a new customer, when do I have to pay?

We accept cash payments or bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
