Colour when the garden needs it most 🌿
Autumn has settled in, the days are getting shorter and more and more plants are preparing for winter. That is exactly when evergreen plants start to show their value. They keep structure and colour in the garden throughout the colder months – and some of them already have something special waiting for early spring.
This week, we are putting Camellia in the spotlight.
A classic that never goes out of style - Camellia japonica has been a garden favourite for generations.
Its glossy, dark-green foliage provides year-round structure, while the flowers bring colour at a time when much of the garden is only just beginning to wake up.
From pure white and soft pink to deep red, the colour range is surprisingly broad.
And there is plenty of variation in flower shape too, with single, semi-double and double flowers giving every variety its own character.
