Autumn is outside the window, in the Netherlands it has been raining since morning, and the weather is not supportive of joyful elation. Fortunately, here and there autumn, sunny, intense colors of leaves appear and ornamental grasses still please the eye. Of course, the most beautiful of them is Cortaderia, which proudly raises plumes of flowers 2 meters high. But beauty is not always in greatness.
It is worth looking lower, at a height of several dozen centimeters, to notice that the
Pennisetum inflorescences shine beautifully with raindrops, and their leaves gently wave in the wind.
Molinia proudly raises its inflorescences upwards, making it clear that it is not afraid of rain, on the contrary, it dresses up in drops like a precious necklace.
And the soft leaves of the
Stipa gently succumb to the pressure of the water and allow it to flow down to the ground.
Bouteloua is holding bravely, although as befits a true dandy, she waits for better weather to surrender to the gentle caress of the wind that sways her so beautifully with inflorescences that look like mascara brushes.
And so, from a rather gloomy aura, we have a romantic story about the mysterious, rainy life of ornamental grasses. Check the list for all available ornamental grass species (begins line 649 in the
attached file).
