Something colorful. Something fragrant.
For those who appreciate intense, vibrant colors in their garden, we recommend Photinia fraseri 'Red Robin' in P9. This beautiful, spreading shrub typically reaches a height of 2.5 to 3 meters.
Its young growth is a vivid red, adding life to any garden or public space. The evergreen, shiny leaves provide an attractive backdrop for numerous white flowers that appear in May and June, gathered in panicle inflorescences.
Photinia looks stunning when planted individually, as part of a hedge, or trained into a small tree. However, in colder regions, it's best to plant it in sheltered locations and cover it during the winter, or alternatively, store it in a bright indoor space (making sure to water it regularly!).
Our fragrant suggestion is the snow-white Syringa (V) 'Agnes Smith', which blooms in May and June and enchants with its delightful, sensual scent. This plant is perfect for both private and public spaces, as it is frost-resistant, has no special soil requirements, and thrives in both sunny and shady areas. Its beautiful dark green leaves enhance the purity of the white flowers.
