A walk in the neighborhood brings observations of diverse habits regarding the care of these plants. In some gardens, hydrangeas have already been pruned in the fall or on sunny days last weeks. In others, they are still waiting their turn.
Your customers most often love these plants for
their beauty and being maintenance-free. Apart from spring pruning (we are talking about Hydrangea paniculata and Hydrangea arborescens, of course), there is
no work to do with them, but a lot of joy.
We often forget that hydrangeas look beautiful not only in the garden but also as
cut flowers. We checked - cut flowers from your own garden are one of the
garden trends this year.
So... what about impressive inflorescences such as
Hydrangea paniculata 'Hercules'®, 'Skyfall'PBR, or 'Vanille-Fraise'PBR or amazing discolorations such as
'Graffiti'®? Do they match the trend?
In our garden, we pruned
'Skyfall'PBR in autumn and used the huge, dried inflorescences for winter decoration. To this day, they look beautiful combined with the dark green of branches of Taxus (photo taken today -
click here). That's another great way of using Hydrangea's flowers - dry compositions for indoor and outdoor.
Speaking of colors, in the upcoming season we focus on
colors that bring peace, such as subtle whites, pale purples, dusty pinks, and delicate reds. And what better fits these assumptions than the discoloration of hydrangea inflorescences?
Another trend, i.e. the turning of every, even the smallest piece of space into a green space. Whether it's a postage stamp-sized garden or a balcony that fits a chair and 1 flowerpot, every space has the potential to become a miniature garden. And here comes the hydrangea again.
Miniature varieties like 'Little Fresco'PBR, 'Petite Star' pbr, or 'Polestar'® fit perfectly into miniature garden settings.
See which varieties we still have available, and choose the ones that will appeal to your customers the most and will ensure good sales for you (BTW, did you know that our Hydrangea paniculata are available in
P9, P12, P14, and C5?).
