Meet our interesting and diverse Thujas

We reviewed our list of available plants and noticed that a few varieties of Thuja are still in stock. While the most popular and traditional varieties have long been sold out, some newer options remain available for ordering.

Let’s start with the standout, Thuja occ. ‘King of Brabant’®. This variety is ideal for both nurserymen and end users because it is naturally dense and compact, requiring significantly less pruning than the classic ‘Brabant’. When planted in the ground—whether in a nursery or garden—’King of Brabant’ will reach its target size within a few years with minimal effort.

Another lovely variety to consider adding to your offerings is the sunny, luminous yellow Thuja occ. ‘Sunny Smaragd®’, discovered by Sebastiaan Hoogenraad. ‘Sunny Smaragd’ grows to a height of 2.5-3 meters and features diverse colors: young growth is yellow with orange tips, while older foliage turns lush green. It is perfect for gardens and containers on patios or terraces.

For fans of classic Thuja, we recommend Thuja occ. ‘Smaragd’, known for its evergreen color, shape, and versatility that never go out of style.

Don’t forget to explore spherical-shaped varieties, which are perfect for small spaces, low hedges, or patio pots. One such example is Thuja occ. ‘Mirjam®’, which grows to about half a meter in height and width. It shines with gold in the summer and changes to a green-orange hue with subtle brown tones in autumn and winter.

We also suggest Thuja occ. ‘Little Gem’, the old variety, introduced in the 19th century. It features a nice dark green color and an irregular, flat-spherical shape. After about 10 years, it reaches approximately 40 cm in height and 60 cm in diameter. ‘Little Gem’ pairs beautifully with other slow-growing conifers, fits well in heathland landscapes, and complements perennial plantings.

FAQ:

How should I make my order?

Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details, and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.

When will my order be confirmed?

Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours (working days). If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.

When can I pick up my order?

We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from 09-09-2024 till 03-05-2025.

I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?

We accept cash payments, credit cards, and bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
