Who needs trees?
We all need trees. That’s obvious because without them our life will be impossible physically (there is no oxygen to breathe) and mentally (being surrounded by trees calms us down and helps us to find lost balance *).
In our nursery, you can find several beautiful and useful tree species.
- Betula p. ‘Royal Frost’ P12, which with its shiny dark red, almost black leaves makes it stand out from other plants. It does not have any soil requirements, it is completely frost-resistant, and it tolerates harsh urban conditions and air pollution well. ‘Royal Frost’ gets the strongest color in sunny places.
- Carpinus betulus P9 and C1.5, which is a brilliant tree for the city, garden, and as a hedge.
- Fagus sylvatica P9 and C1.5, whose young leaves, framed with delicate hair, evoke warm feelings in us every year.
- Fagus syl. ‘Atropunicea’ C1.5, which is distinguished by the strong red color of the leaves. Regardless of color, Fagus sylvatica is amazingly beautiful when grown singly and as a hedge. Beech reaches impressive size, producing about 7 thousand liters of oxygen per day, which is enough for 50 people and can live 500 years.
- Magnolia kobus P9 (only 120 pieces), which in spring turns into a white cloud filled with large, slightly fragrant flowers.
- only 140 pcs of Morus rubra ‘illinois Everbearing’ P9, which is a self-pollinating variety, has fruits up to 3-5 cm long, whose delicate, the tempting taste can be enjoyed for up to three months! It is frost resistant to -25° C. The leaves are typical of the species – large, green, rounded, with serrated edges, covered with soft hairs on the underside.
- only 5 pcs of Prunus serr. ‘Kanzan’ grafted on a short trunk, perfect as a small, wonderfully flowering spring tree for any garden, even a small one.
- Syringa vulgaris in P9 in varieties (total less than 300 pcs!) which apart from the richness of flowers and colors, stunning with a scent that probably does not need to be advertised to anyone.
- ‘Belle de Nancy’ with full, lilac-pink flowers
- ‘Mme Florent Stepman’ with white, single flowers
- ‘Znamya Lenina’ with dark purple, single flowers.
* Recently we are fascinated by the so-called forest bathing or the Japanese technique of shinrin-yoku.
The point is to immerse yourself in the forest atmosphere while walking in the forest and focus on the here and now. Absorbing the forest with all your senses (take your shoes off to feel the chill of the ground) relaxes, cleanses your head, and improves immunity. Forest bathing should last at least half an hour and take place in silence, with the phone turned off.

FAQ:
How should I make my order?
Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.
When will my order be confirmed?
Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours. If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.
When can I pick up my order?
We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from September 2021 to mid-May 2022.
I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?
We accept cash payments or bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
