Hibiscus, Hydrangea, Lavandula – what do you choose? Week 13

It is difficult to choose a topic for today…
because a lot is going on. Wherever you look, “something” is happening. Every day, young leaves appear, eg Physocarpus opulifolius in various shades of red typical for eg ‘Little Joker’®, ‘Red Baron’, ‘Little Angel’®, or the intense, sunny yellow characteristic of ‘Nugget’.
Chaenomeles bloom insanely and delight our eyes with pure white, pale or salmon pink, to strong, decisive red. Osmanthus burkwoodii captivates with its scent hidden in small and numerous white flowers. Magnolias, without a trace of embarrassment, shamelessly present their beauty, expecting absolute admiration.
Other plants are just getting ready for the main show in summer. For example, Hibiscus will shine with full flowers of varieties from the Chiffon group.
The hydrangeas that are shyly showing leaves will forget about their shyness in a few or several weeks and will show their spectacular inflorescences. White, pink, red … There is still plenty to choose from among Hydrangea arborescens, Hydrangea macrophylla, and Hydrangea paniculata. For the fastest, we still have limited quantities of Hydrangea quercifolia and Hydrangea serrata.
What else is getting ready for summer performances? Among others, Lavandula int. ‘Phenomenal’PBR, one of our favorites, with nice silver leaves, healthy and strong. Another summer star is Potentilla, which we recommend with full responsibility for our words because when planted in a sunny place, properly supplied with water, it is a fantastic decoration with a guarantee of flowering.
We should also remember about Weigela, which are beautiful, with amazing colors of leaves and flowers and a wide range of usage, and additionally, they attract bees and bumblebees.

We kindly remind you that the loading calendar fills up very quickly. That’s why we’re suggesting you book your loading date asap.
We’re dealing with the most intense time in a year. Therefore, book a convenient date for collecting plants today. You will have them on time when you want.
Take 3 simple steps and book the date of loading of your plants
- Write to us (info@hoogenraadplant.nl) or call us (+31 (0)318 57 1665) – preferably 2-3 weeks before the planned pickup.
- Provide the day (week) you want to pick up your order.
- We will confirm as soon as possible!
Do you have a problem with arranging transport?
Please let us know as soon as possible. We work with several proven carriers, so you can count on our help.
The minimum order depends on the size of the plants:
- P9 -> 80 pcs / variety
- P12 -> 75 pcs / variety
- C1.5, C2 – 50 pcs / variety
- C3 and bigger -> 25 pcs / variety
FAQ:
How should I make my order?
Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.
When will my order be confirmed?
Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours. If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.
When can I pick up my order?
We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from September 2021 to mid-May 2022.
I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?
We accept cash payments or bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
