Smaragd family is diverse and colorful

Thuja Smaragd has become synonymous with conifer hedges. Almost as certain shoes have become synonymous with sports footwear. The original Smaragd had offspring that inherited the positive qualities. But also found a way to express their individuality.

Thuja Sunny Smaragd and Totem Smaragd, because we are talking about them, distinguish by color, structure, and shape. They gained recognition in the eyes of the jury of plant competitions in the Netherlands and Poland. This year, Sunny Smaragd won the Gold Medal at Gardenia and silver at GrootGorenPlus. Totem Smaragd won silver at GrootGroenPlus.

Good news – all of them are available in our offer:
– Smaragd P9 at price 0,65€; C2 – 1,85€
– Sunny Smaragd P9 at price 1,00€; C2 – 2,50€
– Totem Smaragd P9 at price 2,00€; C2 – 2,50€

The next season we will present the new Smaragd’s family member:

Bright Smaragd – look below.

Thuja occ. Totem Smaragd

Thuja occidentalis Totem Smaragd (‘Thucavlo’PBR) is soaring and narrow like the Italian Cupressus sempervirens – it’s only 40 cm wide. Totam Smaragd can be planted in decorative containers, as well as a solitary plant or hedge in the garden. Grows in a moderate way, only to 2-2.5m.

Looks more delicate than regular Smaragd and has light green, fresh leaf color. Totem Smaragd is frost resistant up to -20˚C.

Thuja occ. Sunny Smaragd

Thuja occidentalis Sunny Smaragd (‘Hoogi023’PBR) is very special among other yellow thujas. It’s not only a sunny color which makes it different.

Sunny Smaragd can grow in full sun, and yet it doesn’t suffer from sunburn so typical for other colored thuyas. Even if it grows in partial shade will dye to its beautiful warm color. Young growths have a slightly orange color. In the wintertime retains its unique color, much better than other similar varieties. If you plant Sunny Smaragd in a decorative pot on the terrace you will get a real decoration, because it doesn’t get brown, like many others. It can also be planted as a hedge. After 10 years, it reaches 2-2.5 m high.

FAQ:

How should I make my order?

Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details and the expected date of receipt of the order (autumn or spring) – this will help us plan work in the nursery.

When will my order be confirmed?

Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours. If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.

When can I pick up my order?

We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection in advance – from February to the end of April, 3 weeks earlier, except this period – a minimum of one week. This will facilitate the timely, efficient and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.

I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?

We accept cash payments or bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
