Shrubs for insects – part 2

Last week we wrote about Caryopteris, a plant that blooms in the second half of summer and is loved by bees. This week’s main character is Buddleja, a butterfly bush and, as the name suggests, is the focus of butterflies.

What role do butterflies play in nature?

It is not only beauty, delicacy, and fabulous colors, but above all an indicator of a healthy and biologically diverse environment. Their presence is proof of the existence of many other predatory insects that protect our plants from pests. Butterflies are food for birds, bats, and other insectivorous animals. They are an essential element of the biological pest control system.

Therefore, send us your order of Buddleja as soon as possible. Together, we will take care of the healthy environment in which we live.

We prune the butterfly bushes in spring to stimulate the formation of new shoots, at the ends of which flowers appear. They can grow in zone 6.
