Conifers that are still available at us. Week 49

Winter break is from December 20 to January 3.
The balance between what is permanent and temporary
Winter has come to Europe. In some places even too much… And of course, it made us think about which plants cope better with excess snow – coniferous or deciduous? Low or high? And which hedges, deciduous or coniferous (Thuja or Juniperus), are more interesting and decorative in wintertime? And… we have not reached any constructive conclusions…
But since winter and the upcoming holidays mean Christmas trees, i.e. conifers, today we’re going to say a few words about the conifers that are still available at us.
We confirm – conifers are interesting, they are not boring, they change throughout the year, they delight the eyes with young growths in spring, stable colors in summer, and discolorations in autumn and winter. Moreover, they provide a balance between what is permanent and temporary in garden arrangements.
What constantly delights us is the fact that conifers adapt so well to the imagination of landscape architects. You can cut (probably) any shape out of them, they are appropriate in modern settings, in the company of modernist architecture, and in historic gardens.
When we want to maintain privacy and intimacy in the garden all year round, a coniferous hedge will work best (and is much nicer than, for example, a concrete wall).
So much for the introduction, let’s get to the details. At the time of writing, we still have a relatively wide selection of Juniperus. Some varieties in symbolic quantities, e.g. Juniperus pf. ‘Mint Julep’, Juniperus hor. ‘Limeglow’, others, such as Juniperus comm. ‘Repanda’, Juniperus pf. ‘Old Gold’, Juniperus procumbens ‘Nana’ or Juniperus scop. ‘Blue Arrow’, there are more of them, and should be enough for everyone interested.
We highly recommend Sciadopitys verticillata and Pseudotsuga menziesii, as well as Taxus, available in several varieties, and Thuja occ. ‘Danica‘, ‘Golden Smaragd’, ‘Smaragd’, ‘Sunny Smaragd‘, ‘King of Brabant’ and others. Low and high growing. Green and yellow, columnar and spherical.
Check out today’s list, we guarantee that you will find something interesting that will enrich your offer!

FAQ:
How should I make my order?
Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details, and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.
When will my order be confirmed?
Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours (working days). If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.
When can I pick up my order?
We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from 11-9-2023 till 24-5-2024.
I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?
We accept cash payments, credit cards, and bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
