Smaragd has more than only one face…

Before we indulge in Christmas fun, let us tell you about two emerald faces.

One emerald is the well-known one – Thuja occidentalis ‘Smaragd’. The queen of evergreen hedges, a regular guest in gardens and moors. One of the most plastic plants that finds many uses and can be pruned in any way, allowing you to give vent to artistic gardening tendencies.

Good news – Thuja occidentalis ‘Smaragd’ P9 is still available in our offer.

The second emerald in the collection (also available in our offer) is its younger brother Thuja occidentalis ‘Totem Smaragd’ PBR.

It is like a real Indian totem – it is slender and soaring, and has a beautiful color. In addition, it is characterized by a rounded tip (some say it looks neater, fuller, healthier, and even “muscled”).
It reaches a small size, only about 2 m high and 40 cm in diameter. This makes it an ideal inhabitant of small gardens, as well as patios and terraces – it will do well in a large, decorative pot.

Michael Perry, Mr Plant Geek

We once asked British blogger Michael Perry, Mr Plant Geek, what he thought made Thuja occidentalis ‘Totem Smaragd’PBR stand out from other thujas:

The neat, narrow Totem Smaragd is not only handsome but also very useful in the garden. It takes up little space but adds character and “height” to the garden. It is similar to the Italian cypress and, like the cypress, Totem Smaragd is also not to be missed!

Totem Smaragd performed very well in the tests. It has all the great qualities of any coniferous plant, with high frost resistance and countless application possibilities. Feels great in the sun, partial shade, and shade.

Totem Smaragd is perfect as a single, plant accent in the garden, an element of composition with other plants, as well as a plant for a terrace or patio. Planted as a hedge, it is also elegant and looks good all year round!

It is incredibly resistant to air pollution and needs no pruning at all.

The minimum order depends on the size of the plants:

FAQ:

How should I make my order?

Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details, and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.

When will my order be confirmed?

Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours (working days). If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.

When can I pick up my order?

We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from 12 September 2022 till 12 May 2023.

I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?

We accept cash payments, credit cards, and bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
