First stop: PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt Autumn Fair 2026 in Hazerswoude-Dorp on 26 and 27 August.

Next stop: Warsaw, PL
One week later, we are heading to Poland for GREEN IS LIFE, taking place from 3–5 September in Warsaw.
You can find Hoogenraad at Hall 1, Stand 96.
Whether you would like to discuss the coming season, discover new varieties or simply catch up over a cup of coffee, you are very welcome to visit us.
And who else will be walking around?
Keep an eye out for the well-known Mr. PlantGeek! 🌿
Michael Perry will also be exploring the fair, looking for interesting plants, new trends and innovations.
Who knows which plants will catch his eye this year?
Elegant leaves, spectacular colours 🍁
This week, we are putting Acer palmatum in the spotlight.
There is a reason Japanese maples remain so popular.
Their delicate foliage, elegant growth and changing colours give them something different in every season. Fresh green, deep wine-red, orange and fiery autumn colours – sometimes all on the same plant throughout the year.
At Hoogenraad, our assortment contains around 40 Acer palmatum product lines.
We offer grafted Acer palmatum in P14 and C2, as well as varieties produced from cuttings in P9.
And with so much choice, where do you start?
Here are three varieties worth a closer look.
A true Acer classic – Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’
One of the best-known Japanese maples – and for good reason.
‘Atropurpureum’ develops into an upright shrub with characteristic wine-red foliage. As autumn arrives, the leaves change again and create a spectacular seasonal display.
Strong, very winter hardy and a reliable classic that has earned its place in the assortment year after year.
Deep red with an elegant shape – Acer palmatum ‘Royal Garnet’
Looking for something with a little more drama?
‘Royal Garnet’ has deeply cut, garnet-red foliage combined with a broad and elegantly arching growth habit.
In autumn, the colour changes towards striking orange-red shades. Its rich foliage colour makes it a real eye-catcher, both in a garden and as a solitary plant.
Fine foliage, big autumn colour
Fine foliage, big autumn colour – Acer palmatum ‘Emerald Lace’
‘Emerald Lace’ shows a completely different side of Acer palmatum.
It is a finely cut dissectum with an elegant, weeping habit. During the season, the fresh green foliage gives it a light appearance – but autumn is when the real show begins.
The leaves change through shades of purple, red, orange and yellow.
‘Emerald Lace’ also grows relatively quickly and can develop into a beautiful solitary specimen.
Around 40 product lines. Plenty of choice. 🍁
Whether you are looking for compact growth, striking red foliage, fine dissected leaves or spectacular autumn colour, our Acer palmatum assortment offers plenty of possibilities for the coming season.
Take a look at our current availability list and discover which varieties best fit your production.

- P9 -> 80 pcs / variety
- P12 -> 75 pcs / variety
- P14, C2 -> 50 pcs / variety

FAQ:
How should I make my order?
Complete the “order” column in the attached Excel file and send it to info@hoogenraadplant.nl. Do not change the content of the file, just enter the number of plants ordered. In the email, provide the company name, contact details, and the expected date of receipt of the order – this will help us plan work in the nursery.
When will my order be confirmed?
Every order we receive is confirmed within 48 hours (working days). If during this time you do not receive an email from us, check your “spam” and “offers” or call us.
When can I pick up my order?
We adjust the dates of orders to meet your needs, so report the date of the planned collection 2 weeks in advance (February-April – 3 weeks in advance). This will facilitate the timely, efficient, and correct preparation of plants and their careful packaging.
Pickup of orders is possible from Week 47 till week 19.
I’m a new customer, when do I have to pay?
We accept cash payments, credit cards, and bank transfers to our bank account based on a pro forma invoice before picking up your order. Pre-payment includes 100% of the order value. After making the payment, please send us confirmation of the transfer because it accelerates the preparation of the plants for pickup.
